I use it interchangeably with 'cremated remains.' It's similar to when someone says, 'They're spreading their loved one's ashes,' using the term 'ashes' colloquially is all.

It's essentially just carbon, that's why you can make diamonds out of it.

All that equipment isn't cheap either. Probably several millions of dollars worth of gear, and thats not including the labor or real estate costs for this company to even exist. Now, I'm not going to sit here and say I can afford one, but there's no need for the negativity. These diamonds are an awesome way to preserve the memories of your loved ones. Hopefully as they get more business, the cost will come down but either way, to make something that naturally takes millions of years in a few months is an amazing achievement and worth every penny. 🤷‍♂️

Hi there 💙 If you wanted to cremate the lung we could absolutely use this as a carbon source. We can't take organic matter for legal reasons

The extraction of carbon from the ashes means this is not a typical lab-grown diamond - it is using a custom carbon source that we extract ourselves. We also grow our diamonds in complete isolation to maintain the integrity of the diamond and know for certain there is no cross-contamination with other's ashes (many companies can keep costs down by growing multiple diamonds in the same chamber, but we view this as compromising the chain of custody since it would be hard to tell if anything had mixed. I wasn’t able to say goodbye to any of them since I was too young and my parents didn’t want me to see him pass when the first one died, and then we were out of country and they were too old to come with us. They passed while in my grandparents care and I never got the chance to say goodbye.
